Another late start, we didn't leave the apartment until after lunch, getting to be a habit. No pictures for this day; I guess I didn't see anything worth taking. (And in those days I had to ration my shots as I had only a limited amount of memory in my camera.)
Today we headed for a nature reserve straddling the Dutch-Belgian border called Kalmthoutse Heide. It was very peaceful and relaxing to walk there, but we didn't see any of the wild sheep and horses that P promised we would see. I jokingly complained that the tourist bureau had forgotten to send some animals to "work" on this Easter Monday. We ended our walk at the beer garden where we had an "afternoon tea" of beer, pancakes, salami and cheese. There were many dogs with their owners and the next table had a huge friendly dog which loved to be patted.
We looked in on Antwerpen on the way back that evening. We parked at the quay and walked around the city squares. For a snack we had some fries with garlic and cocktail sauce. Then P took us to an underground beer cellar where I had a good Gildenbier. This used to be drunk at special occasions but now anybody can taste it. The niece also captured a video sequence of C gulping down a shot glass of tequilla; I think it was a dare.
Back at the apartment we had oysters with wine as a late supper, then settled down for a screening of Pulp Fiction. I know Tarantino is a darling of the film world but I don't like his works; too much violence and foul language. It was great to see Uma Thurman wearing a black wig though. I fell asleep for periods in the film.
